Carling Belong Space Advert

Following from the success of the Carling explorer advert Carling came up with another great idea, the Carling space advert.

This advert again plays on the group of friends belonging together. The friends are in space and go to walk out to a bright light when a voice says to one of them that he cannot go but all the others can because he is wearing trainers and says that hes sorry because he doesnt make the rules (very much like the doorman of the UK).

The friends stick by their man and all dont go with one saying in a parting shot "It looks rubbish anyway"

Carling Belong Explorer Advert

Carling have always strived to make interesting and innovative adverts and their latest series is nothing but class.

This Carling belong explorer advert plays on the theme of mates belonging together. These friends are in a snow storm in the Arctic (or some where similar) and are sitting in a tent when their radio dies. One of the lads says "Are we going out" and the other lads are like dont push your look the weathers bad....I wont give it away but this is a top advert that needs to be watched.

Baileys - Slow Mo Advert

I saw this advert many months ago on the TV but something in my mind clicked and I remembered this one last night.

When the advert starts you think "Oh the typical attractive woman routine" but when the advert moves along you are pleasantly surprised and amused by the outcome.

This advert is a great piece of advertising by Baileys, I think what supports the advert further is the great music that accompanies it. The music is 'Boom Pacha Boom' by 'Billy Byrd and his Penguins'.

Heres the song if your interested

Tui Beer Advert

As usual its an advert for alcohol that's hit the site today. Today its the Tui beer advert, a wonderful piece of advertising clearly for the male market.

This Tui beer advert plays on the fact that the beer is too irresistible to men so they are no longer allowed to work in the brewery as they drink the production line. The Tui beer is now brewed entirely by a female workforce....did I forget to mention that they are a beautiful female workforce!

This is a funny and interesting Tui beer advert and one that is certainly worthy of going in to the annuals of a great alcohol advert.

Malibu Melon Advert

Malibu is seriously easy going due to its laid back Caribbean roots....or so you thought. This brilliant Malibu advert shows the Caribbean lifestyle in a humorous light mocking us westerners, its really funny.

The advert centres on a market stall selling melons but plays on the western style of much choice, many queues with queue numbers for service, saying customer service is the most important thing but doing the opposite and having "display purposes only" melons.

This advert is a great show of advertising prowess as it really is one you remember, is very fun and makes you associate it with Malibu.

Boddingtons - The Body Advert

Boddingtons had a range of adverts quite a few years back that starred Melanie Sykes, a beautiful woman with a very common Britisg accent. The use of Melanie Sykes in Boddingtons adverts worked extremely well to hit the market of the average man.

My favourite of these adverts is called "The body" where you see men with great bodies showing feats of strength and posing as Melanie walks round with her sultry looks, that is until she sits down and says "If you think thats strong chuck then try lifting one of these" and lifts a pint of Boddingtons. Not forgetting that she then takes the mick out of one of the fellas with big muscles and tight pants.

This is a great piece of advertising and Boddingtons did well from this one.

Carling Advert - The Crab

This Carling advert was first broadcast in February 2002 and was a talking point among many. The advert was to advertise Carling Black Label...the normal Carling cans bought in shops today.

The advert plays on a man stranded on a desert island after a plane crash, he wakes to find a crab in front of him and the crab shows him a fridge full of Carling. The fridge is warm as it is not connected to any electricity so the man and crab work together to get some electricty running and then the man kicks back to relax and drink a Carling.

The advert ends with.....well watch it to find out.

This is a great Carling advert, one of many great adverts Carling have produced.

WKD bath advert

WKD, short for Wicked, have been creating a group of different adverts on the theme of people having a wicked side. These adverts have seen groups of men playing pranks on each other to show how W-K-D they can be.

This new advert is one my wife thinks is very funny and plays on a man having a wicked side against his wife. The advert starts with a woman relaxing in a nice bath with 1980's music playing on her small portable music player when her husband walks in, says "Sorry love" before pulling his pants down and sitting on the toilet for an eeer, erm....well you get the picture :)

I wonder whats in store for the next installment of WKD adverts!

Guinness - Surfer Advert

Guinness is well known for the amazing adverts that it creates to advertise its Irish stout, but the Guiness advert I have chosen for today is probably the most memorable from all those it has commissioned.

Created in 1999 the Guinness advert entitled the Surfer was based upon an earlier TV and cinema advert from the 1980's which showed a surfer riding a wave. To take this further the advert below shows surfers go in to the sea and ride a wave with white horses thundering overhead out of the water.

In 2000 this advert was named as the best television advertisment of all time by Channel 4 and a leading British newspaper.

Advert information

The song in the advert is called "Phat Planet" and is by the well known UK Dance group called Leftfield.

From what I understand the surfer was not anyone famous, he was literally found surfing at a beach and asked if he would play the part.

The advert was created by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO and can be downloaded from their website to do so click here.

Smirnoff Vodka Strikes Again

When I first saw this advert I thought it was one of those great Guinness adverts but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was actually a Smirnoff Vodka advert.

I would love to say that there are a great many hardened Russian drinkers in the Smirnoff head quarters somewhere deep in a large Russian city somewhere thinking about what they have achieved with this advert but unfortunately the owner of Smirnoff is the British drinks company Diageo.

Smirnoff have really surpassed themselves with this marvel in advertising, I think this advert is spectacular and really memorable for all the right reasons. Who ever came up with this idea deserves a great pat on the back as it certainly shows what Smirnoff is really made off.

I have to admit that I am a lover of history and this advert certainly brings history to life in an amazing way with these old ships and spitfires raising from the sea.
